SKIDDING TREE FROM WOODS - PULLED LODGED TREE ONTO EMPLOYEE

Investigation abstract

EMPLOYEE #1 HAD HOOKED A CABLE TO THE LOG TO BE SNAKED. AS THE LOG WAS BEING SNA KED BY A TRACTOR, IT APPARENTLY STRUCK A LODGED TREE. THE LODGED TREE FELL AND S TRUCK THE EMPLOYEE. HE RECEIVED A BROKEN LEG AND HEAD INJURIES. THE TREES HAD BE EN CUT THE PREVIOUS DAY. LODGED TREES WERE ALLOWED T0 STAND OVERNIGHT. THE EMPLO YEES WERE NOT PROVIDED SAFETY SHOES OR HARDHATS.
