Investigation abstract

A 37 YEAR OLD VETERAN LOGGING EMPLOYEE STALLED A JOHN DEERE 540-B LOGGING SKIDDE R (SERIAL NO. 2924432) ON A GRADE OF ABOUT 20%. WHEN THE MACHINE STARTED TO SLID E BACKWARDS, HE JUMPED OFF THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE SKIDDER. HE WAS RUN OVER BY THE RIGHT FRONT TIRE. HE DIED AS A RESULT OF CRUSHING INJURIES TO THE CHEST.
