Employee injured in trench cave-in

Investigation abstract

At approximately 12:30 p.m. on April 30, 1989, Employee #1 was working in a 10 t o 11 ft deep by 3 ft wide trench that was well protected and shored. For some re ason, and it appears by accident, he stepped out of the shored section of the tr ench just as it caved in. Employee #1 was buried up to his neck. The accident wa s investigated after a story about it appeared in the Tucson Daily Citizen on Ma y 1, 1989
