Event description

One employee is killed and another incurs multiple injuries

Investigation abstract

At 1:22 p.m. on September 10, 2022, two employees, both carpenters working for a multiple days to treat a compound fracture to his left leg, facial lacerations, and other injuries. framing subcontractor at a construction site in Truckee, California, were standing on a 10-foot exterior sloped gabled roof approximately 23 feet above the dirt ground. The employees were taking measurements to install fascia boards on the gable facade. Employee #1, positioned at the higher elevation, lost his footing and slid into Employee #2. Neither employee was tied off with personal safety harnesses or connected to anchor points. Employee #1 sustained head and neck injuries and died while being airlifted for medical treatment.
