On January 8, 2015, an Abilene Reporter-News employee was working with the large printing press in the company's press room. He stuck his hand into the roller system and had the skin on his right hand removed ("gloved") by the machine. The employee was taken to Hendricks Medical Center in Abilene, Texas, where he was awaiting surgical intervention.
