He fell approximately 40 feet to the ground, suffering a fractured skull, a blood spot on the brain, and fractured bones around his right ear. He was hospitalized.

On February 22, 2017, at approximately 4:15 p.m., an employee trimmed the top of a dead, 85-foot tree. The tree was notched and roped, and the employee made a back cut. As the tree was being pulled over, it caught the fork of a second tree. The second tree uprooted, fell, and struck the employee in the back left side, resulting in broken ribs, a fractured shoulder, and a punctured lung.
