While helping to rethread a paper machine at the dryer section, an employee suffered heat symptoms including cramping and difficulty breathing. The employee was hospitalized for heat stroke.
On April 28, 2017, an employee was using a rope to change the felt on a paper machine when his hand was caught in the nip point created by the rope and the shaft. He sustained amputation of the right middle and ring fingertips.
While checking lines, an employee inhaled a chemical and experienced respiratory distress and tightening of the chest. The employee was hospitalized overnight for possible exposure to a gaseous substance.
