An employee was replacing the right front leaf spring on a garbage truck. He tightened the U-bolts on the new spring when the impact wrench kicked back and his finger was caught between the spring and the front axle. The finger was amputated.

An employee felt ill while on his waste collection route. He was hospitalized, suffering from dehydration.

On May 08, 2017, at approximately 4:15PM, an employee was firing bird deterrent pyrotechnics as part of the facility bird control program when a spark from the bird gun got into the pyrotechnics bag. The pyrotechnics ignited and caused burns to the left side of his body and arm. He was hospitalized.

An employee had to manually place a trash container onto a hydraulic lift to empty the container. After the container was emptied, the employee was placing the lift back into position. As the arm of the lift was being raised, his left hand entered the path of the lift's arm, crushing his left pinky finger. His finger was partially amputated via surgery.

A maintenance employee was moving a forklift from the loading dock when the forklift fell off the dock. The employee was struck by the overhead portion of the roll bar, injuring his right knee. He was hospitalized and underwent surgery.

After cutting a slab of beef short ribs, an employee turned to grab the pieces he had cut and his right hand contacted the saw blade. The employee sustained an amputation to his right index finger.
