An employee was removing a link arm part from a crane sling to set it down on top of other stacked link arms. One side of the link arm was down on top of the stack and the other side was elevated. When the employee removed a piece of wood to lower the elevated side of the link arm, it came down and amputated the employee's left middle fingertip.
