The injured employee was walking along side the forklift in order to steady a piece of equipment being moved by the lift. The equipment was being carried in a sling that was suspended on the forks of the lift and the employee was walking in front of the lift with his hand on the equipment to prevent it from swinging. The employee tripped and the lift struck the employee. The injured employee sustained two broken hips and a fractured pelvis.
