Final narrative
An employee was tightening the fan belt on a large compressor when his right pinky fingertip was caught and amputated in the fan belt.
On March 2, 2022, an employee was using a pressure washer to clean a natural gas compressor. When the employee attempted to adjust the slack on the pressure washing hose the water stream struck his right foot, resulting in a laceration to the top of the foot that required hospitalization and surgery.
Three employees were performing maintenance on a natural gas compressor. Part of the job was changing the belt on the cooler (fan) from the compressor. Prior to changing the fan's belt, an employee removed a section of the fan guard and set it over the compressor. The metal guard section was 3 feet by 2 feet and 8-inches thick and weighed approximately 40 lbs. The guard fell from the engine more than 5 feet and struck the injured employee's hand, resulting in amputation of their index finger.
