An employee was moving scrap steel when it broke and fell on his feet, fracturing both of them.
An employee was working in the recoiler area of the slitter when their right hand was caught between the steel and the recoiler overarm as it descended into the running position. The employee was hospitalized and required surgery.
An employee was loading sheet metal coil into a metal stamping machine. He was trying to adjust jammed metal that was being fed through the machine's straightener, picking it up with his left hand to help thread it into the die, when the pressure on the metal released. This caused it to shoot forward a few inches, and the employee's left index finger was pinned between the corner of the material and the edge guide. He suffered an amputation to the fingertip.
