Final narrative
An employee was loading the engine pistons and cylinder liners onto a pallet to remove from the area for housekeeping purposes. He lifted the last piston by placing his fingers into the large holes on each side of the piston. The piston did not have rings installed on it. When he sat the piston (98 pounds) on the liner it slid into the liner catching two of his fingers between the piston and the liner, amputating the tips of two fingers on his left hand.
