Two employees were pulling a loaded dumpster along a sidewalk. The dumpster's wheels locked up, pushing the front of it into a scaffold on the sidewalk; one employee's hand was wedged between the dumpster and the scaffold's pole. His left hand swelled.

He fell to the floor and sustained two fractured cervical vertebrae and bruising to the spine. The employee was hospitalized.
