His hand was on a pipe when the sliding gate to the transfer system closed back to its original position, resulting in the amputation of all five left-hand fingers (knuckles and up). The employee went outside the warehouse to finish paperwork and instructed the driver of the truck to pull forward, secure the load, and close the trailer doors.
