An employee was moving a pumping unit into the top-dead-bottom position. He stood behind the pump jack motor and began pushing on the belt to help roll the pump unit. The unit moved and suddenly shifted. The employee then slipped and lost his balance. His left hand contacted the bottom belt and was pulled into and around the motor sheave, amputating his left pinky fingertip and lacerating and fracturing his left ring and middle fingers.
