An employee was working under water, using a cavitation cleaning system to clean marine growth off a vessel hull. The machine left a hole at the crease of the finger.

A snatch block controlling the tension of a rope holding the bundles together snapped, causing the steel tubes to fall and strike the employee in the lower right knee.
