An employee was cleaning the bacon department by spraying the floor and two running bacon conveyor belts with a hose and hot water. The employee placed her hand on the side of the conveyor to remove the slippery layer of bacon residue. Her left index and middle fingers contacted the conveyor belt next to a roller and was pulled into a structural part of the bacon press that had a metal edge. The employee sustained an amputation to her index and middle fingertips.
