Final narrative
An employee was rebuilding a compressor engine on an offshore facility. As they were troubleshooting a connecting rod inside the compressor engine, the rod slipped down. The employee's finger was then caught between the crankshaft and connecting rod, resulting in a left middle fingertip amputation and fracture.
An employee was repairing an artificial lift. The employee opened a valve on the lift that caused a rapid release of energy, and the employee was struck by an object. The employee suffered fractures to the skull, right orbital socket, and right cheek. The employee was hospitalized.
