An employee was walking on a snow-covered paved walkway when they stepped off the edge of the walkway and lost their balance. The employee fell to the flat surface, resulting in a left hip fracture.
The injured employee was part of a team that was holding an agitated patient to assist with medication administration. The patient was attempting to bite, kick, scratch and spit throughout the event. It is not known how the employee was injured, but he reported dizziness, headache, nausea, and abdominal pain. He was hospitalized after experiencing multiple seizures.
