An employee arrived at the mechanically separated chicken equipment line to remove sections of pressurized pipe between the line's pump and separator. After removing the sections of pipe, the employee went to clear the remaining section of pipe leading directly into the separator. Their hand contacted the energized and moving auger in the infeed pipe section connected to the separator and their left middle finger was partially amputated.
