AbbVie Inc.

An employee was driving a boom lift (in the lowered position) in an exterior dock area. The lift s left wheels rolled onto base plates that covered a 3-foot-deep sump pit. The base plates failed, and one side of the lift dropped. The employee's left leg was caught under the lift basket, and he suffered a fracture to the lower leg including the ankle.

A maintenance employee was moving a forklift from the loading dock when the forklift fell off the dock. The employee was struck by the overhead portion of the roll bar, injuring his right knee. He was hospitalized and underwent surgery.

An employee was unloading a trailer on the receiving dock using a stand up powered industrial vehicle (PIV). A yard truck pulled the trailer away from the dock and the PIV fell backward out of the trailer. The employee struck their back on the headache rack of the PIV and was caught between it and the dock plate. The employee was hospitalized with a blunt force injury.
