A U.S. Park Police Officer sustained multiple gunshot wounds during an engagement with an armed assailant who was attempting to flee the scene of a crime. The officer was hospitalized and required surgery.

An employee was placing a steel plate onto the back of a flatbed truck when the employee slipped off the bed of the truck and fell approximately 5 feet to the ground, fracturing the left femur.

An employee was adjusting the track on a skid steer that was on a jack when the skid steer shifted and caused the jack to slip. The skid steer then fell on the employee, fracturing the T2 vertebra.

An employee was up in a tree trying to install a meat-hanging pole. The employee fell to the ground, suffering a fractured arm and spine.

A temporary employee was picking up residential trash. The employee walked to the side of the truck near the curb to retrieve trash and was struck by the garbage truck. The employee suffered fractures to the left foot/ankle and was hospitalized.

An employee was collecting garbage that spilled onto the road when they were struck by a vehicle, fracturing their left leg and injuring their shoulder.

An employee was riding an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) in a field when the ATV tipped over. The employee fell off the vehicle and sustained a fractured hip.

An employee was inspecting an air conditioning wall unit in the warehouse when he fell through a secondary roof 8-9 feet to the floor. The employee sustained fractures to his L1 and T12 vertebrae as well as a head injury that required staples.

On July 29, 2025, at approximately 3:00 PM, the injured employee was managing hand pollination operations in a corn research nursery field. They were working outside and riding in a side-by-side with two other employees. They were overcome with heat exhaustion, lost consciousness, and fell in the break area of the nursery. The employee was hospitalized.

Employees were drilling a hole when an employee was struck by the drill. Their right leg was amputated at the knee.

On June 16, 2025, an employee was returning from lunch and walking into the main entrance of a building when he tripped on a floor mat and fell to the ground, landing on his left hip. The employee was hospitalized.

An employee was closing a gun locker in his automobile trunk when his left middle finger was partially amputated by the lid.

An employee was ascending a flight of stairs after exiting their vehicle in an adjacent employee parking lot. The employee stepped to the right to avoid another employee on the left who was descending the stairs. The employee lost their balance and fell on the stairs. They were hospitalized with a laceration/abrasion to their chin, a fractured left humerus, and bruising to their left knee.

A mail handler was moving BMCs on the loading dock when they fell from the loading dock to the concrete ground below. The employee was hospitalized with head trauma.

An employee was on an A-frame ladder while preforming demolition of a ceiling. A section of HVAC ductwork fell on the employee and knocked them to the ground approximately 12 feet below. The employee was hospitalized with a concussion and lacerations.

On the morning of July 24, 2025, an employee was conducting synthesis of a highly toxic experimental chemical (nerve agent) in a chemical fume hood. The operation was completed at approximately 11:30 AM. The employee was exposed to the chemical and began experiencing symptoms of illness/poisoning around 1:30 PM and was hospitalized.
