A truck driver was unloading freight with a manual pallet jack. He was standing on the liftgate of the trailer when he fell back onto the pavement. He struck the left side of his head and ribs, and was hospitalized with one fractured rib.
A mechanic was receiving tires from a third party. When the first tire was pulled out of the trailer, several others rolled off with it and one struck the employee's knee, causing an injury that required hospitalization and surgery.
