Before the incident

Attempting to rotate the positioner holding a trailer unit but the controller batteries required replacement.

What happened

The control module is secured in-place with plastic zip-ties. In order to replace the batteries in the module the zip-ties must be cut.

Injury or illness

Worker used a utility knife to cut the zip-ties which extended through the plastic and lacerated the left thumb from knuckle to knuckle requiring several sutures.
