Before the incident

Phlebotomist was performing an attempt to draw the patient 's blood.

What happened

Once the butterfly had flashed phlebotomist had attempted to grab the first tube to fill. In that moment the patient jerked back his arm causing the needle to come out of the draw site in his left AC area and the phlebotomist got poked in the right knuckle between her pinky and ring finger.
