What happened

While the attending surgeon had a suture in place the employee attempted to retract some of the patient 's tissue while the needle was concealed with blood and stuck themselves on the distal right pointer finger. Afterwards employee removed themselves from the operating room while applying pressure on the injury site and cleaned it with a chlorhexidine scrub and alcohol.
