Before the incident

D6 operator was preparing to empty a full melt cart. The operator unlatched both sides of the cart door once the doors were unlatched the operator moved to the front of the cart door to open it. The operator pulled on the door and the door came loose quicker than the operator expected. The cart door came down and struck the employee in the top of their right foot past the protection of the steel toe. ERT and supervisor were contacted the operator is being transported to the local ER for further examination.
