Picking up a trailer

What happened

EE was picking up a trailer at the [REDACTED] facility to bring back to the [REDACTED] facility and doing his pre-trip on trailer 159. He found that the lights were not working on the trailer and called the mechanics to come fix it. They took off the battery box cover on the truck which has two steps on it. After setting in truck for 30 minutes he decided to get out of the truck to see how much longer it would be. He forgot about the battery box wasn’t there and fell out of the truck and hit the ground on his left elbow.
