Before the incident

Employee was removing post shores and formwork from the exterior of the building

What happened

Employee removed a post shore that was supporting a piece if plywood against the underside of the deck on the edge of the building. The plywood was tied off to the floor above to prevent it from falling. When the post shore was removed the plywood dropped was caught by the rope and then sung back strinking the employee 's right thumb where he was holding the post.
