Employee stated that while she was about to Puncture a patient 's vein and after removing the cover over the needle and she stuck her lower right thumb and it started to bleed through the glove. She wiped the area with alcohol wipe and then washed area with soap and water and after a few minutes she noticed the area was discolored. Puncture with discolored area and pain to the right lower thumb.
