Before the incident

The employee was utilizing a drill with landing gear attachment socket to raise the trailer 's landing gear.

What happened

After the landing gear was at the desired height employee tried to pull pin from the socket and it would not release. With his other hand the employee grabbed the drill for stability and accidently pulled the trigger. The employee 's left index finger was in the socket ring cotter pin when the trigger was pulled and the drill spun and twisted his finger.
