Before the incident

The technician was in the process of removing a electric drive motor from a forklift.

What happened

While removing the mounting bracket for an electric drive motor on a forklift the technician had positioned a floor jack to support the motor. Once the bracket was detached the motor slipped off the jack and landed on the technician’s hand trapping it between the motor and the floor.

The technician sustained a fracture and a laceration to the right palm.
