Attempting to mediate a patient that was combative and angry

What happened

I was leaning in to medicate the patient on his left thigh. [REDACTED] lost control of the pts arm Pt was attempted to grab the syringe from me. I dropped the syringe so he would not get it. Pt grabbed my wrist bending it over the side rail of the stretcher in the middle of my forearm causing severe pain and pinching.
