Before the incident

The Employee was attempting to remove a jam on the Beam line just before the incident occurred.

What happened

In order to remove the jam the employee was using a chisel and a hammer. As the employee was hitting the chisel the hammer dislodged a piece of metal into the employees right pointer finger knuckle.

It was determined the employee had a foreign metal object stuck in their right pointer finger knuckle that needed to be removed.

A broken piece of chisel directly harmed the employee.

Summary line

When hammering the chisel a piece of metal was dislodged from the chisel making contact with the employees right pointer finger which broke through the skin.
