Before the incident

Per employee: I had placed the lifepack on the patients bed. I then reached over to pick it up and when I lifted the lifepack with my arm extended I immediately felt a sharp pain go across my lower back and down both legs. It became extremely difficult and painful to sit. I had pain in my back and both legs driving to the hospital from the call. After the call I tried to sit in my office chair and experienced excruciating pain. I was then seen the ED and had an MRI which showed a herniated disk between L5 S1.
