Before the incident

While using an air-powered snap ring installation tool an operator was placing a snap ring into over the main shaft to install.

What happened

During the installation process the snap ring jarred loose from the tool. The snap ring ejected unexpectedly and struck the operators opposite hand resulting in a cut injury.
