Before the incident

The employee was removing the tail (scrap) of the metal coil from the press.

What happened

When the scrap was removed it fell to the floor and was pinched between the table and winder. The Fork Lift driver was trying to lift it and it got caught. When he backed up the forks were under the table. The scrap sprung up and hit the employee 's hand and forearm causing his hand to swell.
