EE was attempting to place a PIV when patient moved his arm the IV slipped out of the patients arm and pricked EE s left pointer finger EE went to the sink squeezed out as much blood as EE could and washed with soap and water Notified supervisor right away Supervisor asked if EE was okay confirmed that the needle was in the patient Supervisor pulled up policy Got the PEP Kit out of the omnicell and followed the instructions EE went to Virtua ER EE saw doctor and was perscribed medicine EE returned to work and completed full shift with full duty
