What happened

Prepared disoriented patient for blood cultures and that there would be a sharp pinch and to hold still. Patient was agreeable and compliant at the time. Patient was nevertheless alarmed at the stick and aggressively moved their arm subsequently dislodging the needle resulting in a superficial needlestick. Subsequently informed charge RN and ANM for procedure.
