Before the incident

Employee was working on a pin and cylinder when it slipped and hit his left hand on his ring finger and pinky. He was wearing gloves at the time.

What happened

While working on replacing a steel pin for the outrigger on a backhoe. Employee was driving in the pin with a brass hammer with right hand and holding the Cylinder piston rod with left hand. The piston rod suddenly slipped out of the pin and fell on left hand crushing ring and pinkie fingers.
