EE then removed 19 g 1 port access needle from patient when EE reports hearing a click from the needle guard. EE then placed port needle on the bedside table while placing a bandage on the patients port access site. EE Picked up port needle and was poked in the Rt ring finger. EE stating pt has a history of bleeding and was putting pressure on chest before disposing of the needle and that the sharps container was a few feet away.
