What happened

Associate was cutting a small abnormal part on the band saw. Associate did not follow Operation Standard. Associate was holding the small abnormal part with his fingers and did not have the guard lowered. Associate did not have the part flush with the cutting surface and his right pointer finger made contact with the cutting blade.
