Before the incident

I was just attempting to deescalate the situation. The patient often perseverates about things often out of the staff 's control. He had stated that the staff needed to do their job properly.

What happened

[REDACTED] was speaking with me and appeared to be deescalating he was approximately 10-15 ft away. Suddenly he just attacked me striking me in the head and I do not remember much after that.
