Before the incident

Driving in the passenger truck to the aircraft.

What happened

Injury occurred while setting up a tow. Equipment was a tow bar (weight 200+ lbs.). We were in the tow truck about to attach the towbar. We were guiding the tow truck to attach the bar to the driver backed up and jammed the hook to the eye of the bar among telling them to move forward the bar fell onto my toe - due to the tires that were raised on the tow bar before completing connection to the truck. The tow bar was not inside the trucks tow hook at any point and no verbal direction was said to rise tires on the tow bar.
