What happened

While stocking parts the employee accidentally brushed his left leg against a pallet he was transporting causing a splinter to become lodged in his calf. Believing it to be a minor injury he removed the splinter himself and resumed work without notifying anyone. The following day after observing pus oozing from the wound he reported the injury to his on-site Partners representative.
