In [REDACTED] at [REDACTED] a Maintenance Mechanic was repairing a fabricated fan bracket He had butt welded the pin onto the bracket and set the pin bracket back into position While making manual alignment adjustments with his hands he was pushing down on the front of the bracket when the butt weld broke This resulted in the bracket flipping up towards his face striking him on the upper lip just below the nose
