Before the incident

Maint EE performing PM on a pump in the [REDACTED] room. The pump was locked out.

What happened

He removed the inlet side clamp and the water drained out then the outlet side bottom clamp of the check valve. Then he removed the top clamp above the check valve and gravity pushed residual warm CIP solution from the pipe out and it got on his chest and abdomen. There were fans on in the room so some of the water became aerosolized and the mist was getting in his eyes. Out of an abundance of caution we had him rinse his eyes with fresh water for 15+ minutes and took him to the ER
