Before the incident

During slabbing operations at the rewinder the Third Hand and a trainee were working together to process a roll As the Third Hand completed the slabbing task the trainee began cleaning the roll to finalize the process During this activity the Third Hand inadvertently contacted the trainees right hand just below the little finger with the blade of the slabbing knife The Third Hand was wearing all required slabbing personal protective equipment (PPE) The trainee was using a ceramicblade knife which does not require cutresistant gloves under current safety guidelines
