Assisting patient to stand at the bar in the bathroom.

What happened

Patient was reaching for the bar in the bathroom staff leaned passed the wheelchair to help patient lift arm to reach the bar. As the patient stood staff assisted by lifting when staff stepped to the side and stood straight to move the wheelchair pain was felt. Staff has been unable to bend at the waist without a numbing and burning sensation in their back since with some tingling and numbness extending to the arms and hands.
